Belmont

Wow, I can't believe how quiet the Blog has become. I hope all is well with everyone. Summer time is around the corner. Everyone in Brooklyn is doing well. I am enjoying retirement and not going to listen to anyone who says I will get bored.

Next Sunday is Belmont Park day for us. Every year we spend a day at the picninc grounds and hoping some of our cousins can join us. Get there early because it is hard to get a table. Racing starts at 1pm. I believe they let people in before 11.

I surprise visit from CO. would be a big plus. You guys need to buy a plane!!!

Hello Everybody

Happy New Year...guess we're a little late on that one, but it is still January (barely).

All is well here, after a post-Christmas trip to the Amazon in Peru. You know Ruth's idea of a luxurious vacation- mosquito netting, taranchulas, snakes, bats, pirannha, external bathrooms, no electricity, oppressive humidity, all the comforts you'd expect during our first week. Second week visited cities and Machu Picchu ruins- more civilized in those places. Anyway, after getting shots for hepatitis (A&B), yellow fever, typhoid, and pills for malaria, looks like the worst we came back with were nagging (even now) insect bites. Now there's a place for a reunion some day!

Celebrated 2 birthdays last week- my mom and brother John (who now joins the "over 50" club). Everyone doing well.

For you Yankee fans out ther, how about the spending spree they've been on. 14 days till pitchers and catchers, and I can't wait.

Just wanted to wish a happy and hope-filled inauguration day to all my cousins near and far. I pray that even the cousins who aren't too thrilled with our President will come to accept and respect him and, maybe, even love him like the rest of us. I hope against hope that he wins you over and saves our great country from the downward spiral that W and even Clinton have left us in.
